Jammu: Union government has confirmed the capital Punishment sentenced to an Army Jawan by Summery Court Marshal for killing his senior and injuring another in Udhampur October last year.
The Army personnel identified as Satyam Kumar of Northern Command’s Single Regiment had killed Hawaldar Padma Ragan of Kerla and injured another Jawan Balwant Singh by firing at them by his service weapon Insas.
Sources told News Agency of Kashmir that following the incident, a court of inquiry was ordered by the Army Authorities.
The jawan was prosecuted by Summery Court Marshal and was sentenced death penalty. The capital Punishment to the convicted has confirmed by the Central Government.
This is for the second time that an army personnel was given death sentence in Kashmir.A
