Abu Dhabi : The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will invest around $20 billion in the development and expansion projects of its six airports, Khaleej Times reported Tuesday.
These projects are being showcased at the seventh edition of Dubai Airport Show on May 28-30.
According to the report, $4.1 billion will be invested in major expansion of Dubai International Airport, the busiest airport of the oil-rich Middle East country.
Another $8.2 billion will be spent in the development of Dubai World Central International Airport in Jebel Ali, one of Dubai's free zones.
The expansion of Abu Dhabi International Airport will receive about $6.8 billion.
In addition, a sum of $139 million will be invested in three airports in the country's northern emirates of Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.
