New Delhi : Shoaib Akhtar hit the gym straight after bowling his 10 overs against Delhi during Pakistan’s tour opener at Ferozeshah Kotla here Friday.
The Pakistan tearaway went for some weight training and worked out at the Kotla gym for 30 minutes while his teammates preferred to rest in the dressing room.
Akhtar, 32, was taken to the gym under tight security and the whole area was cordoned off to keep media and curious fans at bay.
He seemed to have found his rhythm once again, picking up one wicket while conceding 46 runs in his 10 overs.
Akhtar, in the news recently for all the wrong reasons, returns from a 13-match ban imposed on him by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The fast bowler was punished after he assaulted teammate Mohammed Asif with a bat in the dressing room just a day before the start of the Twenty20 World Championships in South Africa.
On Friday, the paceman was seen happily signing autographs for young fans while fielding in the deep.
