Advani turns 80

New Delhi : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former deputy prime minister L.K. Advani turned 80 Thursday, a day when his party was getting set to form its first government in the Karnataka.

While party workers and leaders queued up to meet the leader of opposition at his Prithviraj Road residence, one of the first callers was party president Rajnath Singh.

The day is a happy one for the party, which is getting its first chief minister in the south in B.S. Yeddyurappa after the union cabinet decided to revoke president’s rule in Karnataka, a senior party leader said.
