Chennai : Search engine marketers are meeting at SearchCamp to be held at Tidel Park here Oct 6-7.
The two-day event organised by Knowledge Foundation, Chennai, will see people in the search engine marketing discussing the power of search engines and its entire gamut of related services, including search engine advertising, optimisation and marketing.
The event, first of its kind in India, will feature workshops, debates and keynotes on the present state and evolution of search engine marketing.
It is estimated nearly 50 percent visitors to any website are from a search engine. It is therefore important for corporates to efficiently target this space for marketing.
According to Ezhil Raja, CEO, Uptrend Hits, a Chennai-based search engine optimisation company, Indian companies are yet to realise the full potential of search engine advertising.
He said companies use search engine optimisation primarily for brand awareness. While search advertising still dominates internationally, the concept is gaining momentum in India.
“Advertising on a search engine actually reaches the target audience unlike advertising on a general website or print media,” he added.
