Moscow : A research ship for India’s Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), built at the Amur Shipyard in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, has been floated off in the Russian far east.
The ship can conduct seismic reconnaissance and locate oil and gas deposits at a depth of up to 4,000 metres.
Amur Shipyard managers said the ship, with a length of 94 metres and a 19-metre beam, had been built to a Norwegian design.
The ship, undergoing sea trials in the Primorye (Maritime) territory, will be delivered to India this year.
