It is for the second time in the past three days that PDP has heightened its campaign against the Azad government.

PDP with 18 legislators is the second largest partner in the ruling coalition after Congress with 20 MLAs. The Congress also has the support of 11 associate members.

Talking to reporters after addressing leaders of his party in Jammu region, Sayeed said his party workers were not happy the way the government was functioning. “It is working without taking PDP into confidence on major issues,” he charged.

“If there is no improvement in the functioning of the government and the PDP’s relations with the Congress, we might have to rethink whether to stay in the government or pull out of it.” He however added: “First, we will attempt to reconcile and work together and improve the functioning of the government.”

At the meeting, the PDP leaders said Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad was working more in an individual manner than collectively.

Sayeed, who ruled the state during 2002-2005, said that for the PDP issues were basic and most important. “There is no semblance of the government at the moment,” he said.
