Ambala (Haryana) : A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court here Monday reserved its judgement on the bail plea of Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. The judgment will now be given Thursday.
The CBI is opposing the bail plea of the sect chief in two cases of conspiracy to murder and raping a woman follower registered against him.
The Dera chief was accused in the murder conspiracy of Sirsa-based journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati in November 2001 and sect manager Ranjit Singh in July 2002.
A woman follower (sadhvi) had also accused him of raping her.
The sect chief finally appeared before the special CBI court here Oct 5 even as over 100,000 of his followers gathered in this city in a massive show of strength.
He continues to be on interim bail in the two cases.
