Kahlon, who had rounds of 67 and 66 in first two rounds, the second of which he completed only on Saturday morning, was tied third with Lee Westwood and Nevin Basic and the trio was one behind joint leaders, Prom Meesawat and Anthony Kang, who were at 13-under, but they too had not completed their third round.

Only 14 of the 68 players who made the cut had finished their third round.

Indians were progressing well with Gaganjeet Bhullar at one-under through 12 and he was at 11-under in provisional sixth and Arjun Singh, who was four-under through 17 holes in third round was at 10-under and tied eighth. Digvijay Singh was two-over through 11, but still in 11th place.

The only other Indian to make the cut, Naman Dawar was tied 52nd with three holes to play.

Kahlon, who won the hero Honda Masters in 2003, and has been struggling this season, had three birdies and one bogey.

In the morning, when the left-over second round resumed, Bhullar went on a birdie spree.

Rookie Bhullar, who was part of the Indian team that won a silver at the Asian Games in December, was two-under through six holes when play stopped Friday.

He started the day with three birdies on 16th, 17th and 18th and added three more on third, fourth and eighth as he brought home an eight-under 64 that saw him catapult to tied seventh after 36 holes.

Overall five Indians made the cut from the 13 who started the week.

Earlier on Friday, Digvijay Singh who shot a bogey free six-under 66 was in tied fifth as four players shared the lead at the end of the second round.

The drawcard in the event, Lee Westwood lived up to his reputation as he completed the second round in seven-under 65 with seven birdies and no bogeys to join three others in the lead.

He joined Chinese Taipei’s Lu Wei-chih who fired a sizzling 10-under-par 62 Friday to get into a tie with Neven Basic (67) and Anthony Kang (65). They were all at 12-under for two rounds and Digvijay was one behind them.

Arjun Singh completed his second round in 68 to go to six-under 136 and in tied 18th place, while Dawar also made the cut easily as he played a fine four-under bogey-free 68 that saw him three-under for the tournament and in tied 48th place.
