“After inquiring the matter for two days, we have decided to terminate her services with immediate effect,” Delhi Education Minister A.S. Lovely told reporters.

Khurana, who teaches mathematics at the Sarvodya Kanya Vidyalaya in Darya Ganj in central Delhi, faced the ire of an angry crowd at the school Thursday morning when a private TV news channel aired the footage of its sting operation.

“A two-member inquiry committee has examined the footage of the television sting operation, purportedly showing Khurana forcing girl students into prostitution after blackmailing them,” Lovely said.

He, however, said the committee did not find any complaint against her related to prostitution or the Immoral Trafficking Prevention (ITP) Act, but it found her track record unsatisfactory.

“There were several complaints against Khurana of misbehaviour with children, on the basis of which the government has decided action against her,” the minister said.

The state government is also planning to deploy private security guards at state-run girl schools.

“We will bring a proposal in this regard
