New Delhi : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed today left for USA, where he is scheduled to address a conference on Indo-US relations.
The conference is being organized by the former US Defense Secretary, Stephen S Cohen at Florida under the aegis of the Howard Gilman Foundation. Titled “The Leaders Project”, the conference is bringing together a select group of around 50 personalities from government, politics, business, finance, academia, science, technology and media from India and USA to deliberate on the political, economic, security, social, cultural and intellectual aspects of the Indo-US relationship.
During his stay aboard, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, besides attending the scheduled conference at Florida, would be also visiting New York, Washington and London. He would be interacting with prominent independent US policy-makers on South Asia at Central for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Heritage Foundation, Asia Society and United States Institute for Peace (USIP).
Sayeed will also interact with the Non-Resident Kashmiris from both parts of the State at London, Washington and New York. He is scheduled to address a press conference in New York on 21 September and would also participate in group-discussions on some local TV channels.
Focus of Sayeed’s interactions in USA and UK would be the recent developments in the sub-continent with regard to the peace process in Jammu & Kashmir.
