Mumbai: Maulana Mukhtar Ahmad Nadwi, founder member and vice-president of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) died in Mumbai Sunday evening. (Inna lillahe wa inna alaihe rajeoon).
He was one of the prominent Salafi scholar of India. Along with scholarship he was active in the community working for social and welfare of the less fortunate ones. He was associated with Awam Welfare Association for the educating children of Bandra slums of Mumbai.
He edited and published Musannaf of Ibn Abi Shayba from his publishing house Dar-ul-Salafiya.
Maulana Mukhtar Ahmad Nadwi was 78 years old.
He will be buried in Santa Cruz Qabristan on Monday, zuhr prayer time.
