“We have a majority in the Karnataka State Cricket Association and expect cooperation from all members of the Association,” Wadiyar, son of former Mysore Maharaja, told IANS Monday.

Wadiyar and his group bagged 13 of the 24 seats in the managing committee but failed to wrest the vital secretary’s post from former Test player Brijesh Patel against whom they had levelled serious allegations of lack of transparency and financial irregularities.

Patel has been KSCA secretary for the last nine years.

Wadiyar, who was backed by liquor baron Vijay Mallya, defeated former Test batsman Gundappa Viswanath.

“We will be pro-active and will work to implement our programmes for the betterment of the sport in the state,” Wadiyar said.

Asked whether he expected full cooperation from the Patel faction, Wadiyar said: “We have a majority and all decisions will have to be taken by the majority.”
