Cape Town : Australia crushed Bangladesh by nine wickets in their opening Group F match of the Twenty20 World Championships at the Newlands ground here Sunday.
Asked to take first strike, Bangladesh collapsed after a good start to finish at 123 for eight after Australian paceman Brett Lee notched the first hat-trick in an international Twenty20 game.
Anchored by a 104-run opening stand in 11.3 overs, Australia were home and dry with nine wickets and 37 balls to spare.
