Kolkata : The tennis divas don’t just hit the ball hard – their culinary skills are a gourmand’s delight.
That is what the international line-up of tennis divas proved while preparing pasta here Wednesday during off-court activities at the ongoing Sunfeast Open.
Daniela Huntachova, Sofia Arvidsson, Sunitha Rao, Cornett Jones, Ekateria Ivanova, Yaroslava Shedova, Yulia Efremova and a host of other tennis stars from across the globe were in their elements in the kitchen as they prepared lip-smacking pasta.
“It’s a very exciting experience,” Sunitha said. She had tried her hand at cooking in the past, “but the whole thing was fun here”.
The players also interacted with the media and Yulina even sang for MTV.
“When I took a break from tennis (during pregnancy), I thought I’ll try to be a singer. But then, I discovered that trying to be a singer is a lot more expensive then being a tennis player,” Efremova said.
“Yes, I have tried cooking before,” Arvidsson said.
“I had been here in 2005 and kind of liked this place. I even tried some Indian cuisine,” she added.
