New Delhi : Indian Sports Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar Monday congratulated the national cricket team on winning the Twenty20 World Championship in Johannesburg.
“The Minister of Sports, Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar, joins the nation in congratulating the Indian team on winning the Twenty20 cricket title,” said a ministry statement here.
“He said that he hopes that the winning trend set by Indian sportspersons in football, hockey and cricket will get extended to other sports as well.”
India defeated Pakistan by five runs in the final at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg to win the maiden edition of the tournament.
