United Nations : The Non Aligned Movement warned on Tuesday about dangerous events in the Palestinian occupied territories, intensified after Israel declared Gaza as hostile territory.
A NAM statement in the United Nations called that decision of Tel Aviv authorities “cruel,” and pointed out that it violates international law, including humanitarian law, by punishing all the civilian Palestinian population living in the Gaza Strip.
Such action is totally unjustifiable under any pretext, and should be punished, the NAM document read.
The text calls upon Israel to fulfill its legal obligations under the Fourth Geneva Convention, applicable to all the Palestinian occupied territory, including East Jerusalem, and to stop all its violations of international law.
Based on the classification of hostile territory, Israel intends to suspend electricity and fuel supply to a population that is already isolated in the Gaza Strip, the release said.
