An official statement said the prime minister’s visit was postponed as he was advised rest after the prostate surgery last week.
A special convocation being held to honour him has been postponed. A university spokesman said here Saturday that all other functions related to the start of the diamond jubilee celebrations would take place as scheduled.
The Prime Minister’s Office is likely to issue fresh dates for his visit here next month.
