Shimla : Finance minister P. Chidambram will launch the ‘Aam Aadmi Bima Yojna’ (Common Man’s Insurance Plan) in Shimla Tuesday, officials said Sunday.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had announced the new insurance policy on Aug 15, to be implemented throughout the country, for people aged between 18 and 59 against death and injury on a premium of Rs.200 a month, officials said.
The prime minister was scheduled to launch the scheme in Shimla Sunday but his visit was cancelled a couple of days ago.
