Iraqi parliamentary blocs announce unified stand against division of Iraq

Baghdad : The deputy of the Iraqi Accord Front Izzidine Al-Dolah said on Sunday that main Iraqi parliamentary blocs will announce their unified stand against a US congress proposal to divide Iraq.

The main Iraqi parliamentary blocs are the Iraqi National Accord led by Iyad Alawi, The United Iraqi Alliance represented by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari, the Sadrist movement, Iraqi National Dialogue front, and parliament members representing the Turkmen and Yazidis.

MP Izzidine told KUNA these parliamentary blocs have held a series of talks to form a new parliamentary bloc aimed at putting an end to sectarianism in the country.

He added that if the government remains in its current situation without treating the security and services issues, a constitutional government will be formed through an agreement among these blocs.
