According to data provided by the Iraqi Ministries of Interior, Defense and Health, that percentage represents the deaths of 1,082 persons, 925 of them civilians and rest members of the Army and the police.

The balance of dead soldiers reached 54 and the police forces lost 103, while the total of wounded was 1,630.

In February, 721 Iraqis lost their lives, 33 percent more in comparison with January, thus confirming the upward trend in the first months of this year and refuting the White House and occupation command declarations on alleged security successes.

The number of civilian deaths is chiefly linked to the increase of the US military offensives in different Iraqi regions, in which bombings and fighting against the resistance has been intensified.
