Two days ago Chad President Idriss Deby granted pardon for the release of six French citizens charged with kidnapping of children and were serving sentences up to eight years in prison here.

However this file does not seem to end and not even happily; Chad’s Judges Union (SMT) agreed the French government has to assume the 6.3 million euros debt to pay for victims’ damages and interests.

French Prime Minister Francois Fillon said on Tuesday that is unbelievable the French taxpayer will pay that figure for the mistakes of the group that called themselves Arca de Zoe guilty of the frustrated kidnapping.

According to Le Figaro newspaper the Chad Justice Ministry sent a letter to France in which it states that in accordance with agreements between the two countries Paris will provide effectiveness of civil interest payment.

A sources from the French foreign ministry reiterated that the country will not assume a debt that correspond to law offenders under no circumstances and invited Chadian authorities to continue their demands legally.

The problem does not finish here because those families that were about to receive the children in adoption are also demanding millions compensation which are now under proceeding by their respective lawyers and prosecutors.
