Thiruvananthapuram : Indian spiritual leader Mata Amritananda Mayi, popularly known as Amma, was given a warm welcome at the Melbourne airport Thursday by her followers, according to an official of her ashram.
Speaking to IANS on telephone from Melbourne, Thiruvallam Bhasi, public relations official of Amma’s ashram, said more than 100 followers of Amma were present at the airport to receive her.
“She is accompanied by Swami Amrita Swaropananda Puri and 25 others on her two-week Australia visit. During her stay, she will hold discourses at Sydney, Gold Coast, Brisbane and Melbourne,” said Bhasi.
