Srinagar : Separatist militants Thursday afternoon abducted two policemen from a village in north Kashmir, an official said.
Police search teams soon rushed to Surigam village in the frontier district of Kupwara, 105 km from here.
“The policemen had gone to the village on an official assignment when they were abducted by the militants. We have mounted an operation to trace and rescue the missing cops,” a senior police officer told IANS on phone from Kupwara.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the abduction.
