Chandigarh : Indian top seed Rohan Bopanna along with compatriot Harsh Mankad stormed into the semi-finals of the ITF men’s tennis tournament at the CLAT Complex here Thursday.
Bopanna had to wage a marathon battle against Russian Danila Arsenov to seal the match 6-7(8), 7-6(1), 6-3.Mankad on the other hand, had it easy against the fellow Indian wild card entry Yuki Bhambri who so far had a fine run in the tournament. Makad defeated the youngster in straight sets 6-4,6-2.
Bopanna will now face compatriot Divij Sharan, who mowed down Czech Roman Jebavy 7-5,6-2 while Mankad will have third -seeded Hyun-Woo Nam of China .who had an easy win on Vivek Shokeen 6-4,6-2, for the semifinals match
In doubles, it is going to be an all-Indian show with third-seeded Rohan Gajjar and Purav Raja meeting Harsh Mankad and Rupesh Roy for the title clash Friday.
