Ahmedabad : South Africa were 494 for seven in their first innings in reply to India’s 76 at stumps on the second day of the second cricket Test here at the Sardar Patel Stadium at Motera Friday.
The South Africans stretched their first innings lead to 418 runs when rain ended the day’s play with 12.4 overs still to be bowled.
Overnight batsmen A. B. de Villiers was still batting on 217, having added a record 256 runs for the fifth wicket with Jacques Kallis who made 132. Paul Harris was with de Villiers on 9.
