Jeddah : The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is organizing today a brainstorming session aimed at exploring novel ideas and insights on improving its operations. The meeting, to be held at the bank’s headquarters here, will also include discussions to exchange ideas related to mobilizing funds for the recently established Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development aimed at combating poverty and unemployment in Muslim countries. Saudi Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim Al Assaf and Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Ali, president of IDB, are among the main figures addressing the seminar.
The IDB session will also discuss ways to promote intra trade between the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and the role of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation, affiliate member of the bank. The session, which coincides with the meeting of the bank’s board of executive directors, will be attended by former and current members of the board of executive directors, the IDB president and former and current IDB vice-presidents.
