In the first debates, representatives of the 205 ANOC member countries asked to support China during the organization of the games, without interference or political campaigns.

“We definitely say no to any boycott, and yes to the Olympic Games,” ANOC President Mexican Mario Vazquez Rana told press.

The official noted they have firmly supported the organization of Beijing 2008, and will spare no efforts for its successful development, for the benefit of athletes, friendship, solidarity, and peace among youth and peoples of the world.

Meanwhile, International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge called for the Olympic movement to stay united to overcome any difficulty.

Cuban Olympic Committee President Jose Ramon Fernandez strongly condemned the campaign intended to damage the international faith in China’s capacity to fulfil its commitments, and organize winning games.

In addition, Fernandez lamented that some NGOs, other institutions, personalities and press media have joined the campaign against the host country, with goals that have nothing to do with Olympic sports.
