Rabat : The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) will support and take part in a symposium on the Prophet?s biography in Spanish writings, which is to due to be held from 22 to 24 April in Rabat.
The event is jointly organised by the faculty of arts and humanities (Sidi Mohammed bin Abdellah University in Fez), the supreme scientific council in Morocco, the Islamic cultural centre in Madrid and the Spanish cultural centre in Fez.
The aim of this symposium, which will bring together scholars and thinkers from Morocco, Spain and the United Arab Emirates, is to highlight the efforts made by Spanish writers in their studies of the Prophet?s biography as well as the methodologies followed by Spanish Orientalists in tackling this subject.
Likewise, it will attempt to evaluate these writings in order to redress the negative stereotypes reinforced by Orientalism in the Spanish consciousness about the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his brilliant biography.
