Vienne : The Austrian prison administration denied here Thursday accusations of assaulting two Muslims prisoners sentenced for four years, accused of affiliation with Al-Qaeda terrorist organizations and threading Austrians interests on a video recording broadcast on the internet.
An Austrian prisoner, 22 year old Mohammed, of Egyptian origin, accused the prison guards of beating him and his wife and insulting them verbally.
Mohammed also told his family, the remarks reported in the media, that his 21 years old wife had miscarried in the prison due to physical and psychological abuse, describing the prison as “Austrian Guantanamo”.
The head of the prisons administration strongly denied the charges, stressing that the administration suggested the wife, Mona, be examined by a competent doctor, but she refused the offer.

The kidnappers are said to be members of Al-Qaeda in Al-Arab Maghreb outfit.
