London : A bus crash in Ecuador has killed five British citizens and injured 15, Britain’s Foreign Office said Sunday.
The injured include 12 Britons, two Ecuadoreans and a French citizen, the office said.
The crash occurred between the Ecuadorean capital, Quito, and the city of Puerto Lopez at about 6 p.m. local time in Ecuador (2300 GMT) on Saturday, a Foreign Office spokesman said. It was not immediately clear how the crash occurred.
British Embassy employees in Quito were working with a tour company to inform the relatives of those involved, the Foreign Office said.
A Foreign Office spokeswoman said she believed the Britons’ injuries were not life-threatening, according to a report of the Associated Press.
