Paris : The Fourth international session on the Asia-Middle East region will kick-off here Tuesday at the Higher Institute for Defense Studies, with the participation of several Gulf states, including Kuwait, the French Foreign Ministry announced.
The session, which will be entitled “The factors of instability: which security tools?” is being held as a result of an initiative taken by the French Foreign Ministry with the cooperation of the Defense Ministry.
A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry said that the seminar, which will be held until April 22, will discuss many issues, such as “religious extremism, terrorism, energy supply and maritime security.” The session will also address territorial disputes, proliferation and notably initiatives by international organizations in this regard, according to the statement.
A large number of GCC states and Asian countries will be taking part in the seminar, such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Yemen, Pakistan, India and Singapore, where they will be represented by military officers, officials and academics.
