New Delhi : The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) chairman Buta Singh Tuesday said the panel would issue a notice later in the day to farmer leader Mahendra Singh Tikait for his alleged caste laced diatribe against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.
Tikait, the Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader, had allegedly abused Mayawati at a rally in Bijnor March 30.
“The notice will be issued today (Tuesday). After receiving the notice, Tikait will have to clarify his stand on the information contained in the first information report, which the Bijnor police registered against him for allegedly making derogatory remarks against the Uttar Pradesh chief minister at a farmer’s rally,” Buta Singh told IANS.
“If the commission is not satisfied with his written clarification, he will be asked to present himself before the commission to further clarify his stand,” he added.
