Brasilia : The scorer of more than 1,000 goals in his illustrious football career, Romario officially announced Tuesday his retirement from the sport.
He made the announcement during the debut of his DVD titled “Fury of Shorty DVD Romario is goal”.
“My last game was in November against Internacional for the Brasileiro Championship. I don’t have anything left in me. I have already put on two or three kilos,” said the former player/coach of the Vasco football team out of Rio de Janeiro.
The athlete’s contract expired March 31.
The 42-year-old is looking into the possibility of playing one last game to officially say goodbye to his fans and the sport.
As of now, he is studying options of playing for Flamengo, Vasco, or even the Brazilian national team.
