Vladivostok : Russian and U.S. border guards have agreed on joint measures to counter poaching and smuggling in the northern sector of the Pacific Ocean, the Russian Far East customs authority said on Wednesday.
The agreement, signed during a meeting between the two services’ leaders in San Francisco, will focus on intercepting illegal trade in arms, drugs and poached fish.
The sides have also agreed to exchange information and carry out joint operations to crack down on international organized crime groups.
During the meeting, the Russian and U.S. delegations also agreed on dates of joint exercises and visits of patrol and escort vessels.
