Link in Indian Settlers and African Tribes

New Delhi : A team of experts found genetic relationship between the settlers of an Indian village of Tamil Nadu and the African tribes who arrived at that region 70,000 years ago, according to a study disclosed in New Delhi Tuesday.

The inhabitants of the Jyothimanickam village, south the country, have a common gene with the first immigrants coming from Africa, according to conclusions of experts in genetics directed by Ramaswamy Pitchappan.

The team, which counted with the collaboration Oxford University, carried out DNA testing to the villagers and found gene M130, which relates them to African primitive people who emigrated that region.

According to scientists, the South of India was a route of entrance of immigrants and invaders, as it demonstrates Old Portuguese colony of Goa and the population of Pondicherry, of French origin.
