Kuwait : Fourth constituency candidate Mubarak Mohammad Al-Waalan called for more justice and equality throughout the Kuwaiti society.
In a seminar to inaugurate his campaign headquarters last night, Al-Waalan said that he hopes Kuwaitis would unite to realize the equality stated upon in the constitution.
He also remarked opposing division of the state in treatment into high-priority and inferior areas depending of proximity to the capital city is not an attempt to cause divide, but rather a call for unity. Many Kuwaitis, all across the country, are qualified and capable of serving the country, he stressed.
He also discussed the recent controversy over the “gatherings law”, which was recently withdrawn by the government and was strongly opposed by the Kuwaiti people.
He meanwhile stressed Members of Parliament should have the ability to bear their responsibility towards the Kuwaiti people and convey their demands in Abdullah Al-Salem Hall at parliament.
On the issue of increase in oil revenues, Al-Waalan said, “It is shameful to call for taxes on the Kuwaiti people while there is such hike in oil prices beyond the USD 100 mark.”
Al-Waalan is a graduate of political science and general management from Kuwait University, and had worked in several Kuwaiti embassies.
