Makkah : Abdullah Al Turki, secretary general of the Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL), held separate talks with two delegations, each from Turkey and Indonesia at the MWL headquarters here yesterday. Dr. Al Turki received a delegation from Turkish Welfare Party led by its leader Recai Kutan. During the meeting, Recai Kutan briefed Dr. Al Turki on the party’s programs and objectives in contributing social, cultural and developmental reforms. Recai Kutan hailed Saudi Arabia’s outstanding contributions toward improving the conditions of Muslims worldwide through the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), MWL and other Saudi-based organizations and other activities.
The secretary general also received an Indonesian Islamic delegation led by Governor of Sumatra Island Ghamadan Fawazi. They reviewed issues pertaining to cooperation between the MWL and the Islamic organizations in Indonesia. Speaking on the occasion, Fawazi hailed the efforts of the Saudi Arabia in the defense of Islam. He reiterated the keenness of the Islamic organizations in Indonesia on enhancing cooperation with the MWL.
