Toronto : Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has attributed India’s success to its pluralistic way of life.
Speaking at the Canada-India Foundation gala dinner, Harper said: “India has been working on pluralism for over 5,000 years. India is succeeding and I suggest it is succeeding for one reason above all others – its embrace of pluralism. This embrace is at the heart of India.”
Harper said that because of this India would emerge not only as an economic superpower but also as a force of stability in the world.
India’s National Knowledge Commission chairman Sam Pitroda was honoured with the Global Indian Award at the programme.
