Bravo will play for the Sachin Tendulkar-led Mumbai Indians team, which will see its first match of the Twenty20 tournament against Bangalore Royal Challengers Sunday.

He will miss next week’s Carib Challenge Shield Final against Jamaica but has the support of Trinidad and Tobago team manager Colin Borde who feels the 24-year-old’s outing in the cash-rich league will benefit the national team in the long run.

“I think everybody is excited (about Bravo) playing with Sachin, Harbhajan Singh and Shaun Pollock,” Borde was quoted as saying in the Trinidad Express.

“I think it’s good for him. As a Trinidadian you must feel proud… he’s the first guy (from Trinidad and Tobago) to get into the IPL,” he added.
