Palestinian killed in Israeli air strike — witnesses

Gaza : One Palestinian lost his life and two others suffered injuries in an Israeli air strike on Gaza early on Saturday, witnesses said.

They said Israeli aircraft fired a lone missile in the direction of a group of Palestinians in Al-Shujiah district east of Gaza city killing one and wounding two others. Body of 21-year-old Ihab Al-Mughni was badly disfigured in the air strike.

The air attack coincided with land action by Israeli forces in the same region, with involvement of heavy armor and tanks.

At a location close to Rafah on the border, Israeli troops clashed with Palestinian fighters, who apparently tried to cross the border fence. Five Israeli troops were wounded in the firefight, a spokesman of the Israeli Army said. And Palestinian sources said one Palestinian was wounded.

Meanwhile, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, military offshoot of Fatah, and Brigades of the Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine said in a joint statement they were responsible for attacking an Israeli military outpost with rockets east of the town of Deir Al-Balah.
