Kuala Lumpur : The Kuwaiti Minister of Public Works, in the remarks to KUNA, indicated that he had held talks with the minister of transport, Raymond Lim Siang Keat, on cooperation of transport and public transportation, indicating at the need for expertise for the planned metro project.
Al-Sarraf added that in a separate meeting with the minister of environment, Lim Swee S., the talks dealt with cooperation in the sector of waste treatment, hinting at a plan by Kuwait Municipality to float a tender for launching two ventures for the water treatment.
Singapore, unlike Kuwait which depends on traditional systems for disposal of waste, uses various means and advance systems such as treatment of used materials with fertilizers and some raw materials.
The Kuwaiti official said he agreed with his hosts on maintaining contacts and coordination for the launch of mega projects in the future.
Later Saturday, Al-Sarraf wrapped up the four-day official visit to Singapore and was reported en route back home.
His talks with the senior officials dealt, partly, with cooperation in the management of ports, setting up administrative and legal systems.
The mission of Al-Sarraf was in line with guidelines of the top leaders to examine mechanisms of cooperation and strategic partnership, level of which aspired to be enhanced by the two countries.
