Beirut : The UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Robert Serry has embarked on his first official visit to Lebanon by inspecting the UN’s Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and meeting with its commander, General Claudio Graziano, of Italy.
During his three-day visit to the politically-paralysed country, Serry would meet Parliament Speaker Nabi Berri, Premier Fuad Al-Siniora and other Lebanese senior officials, besides meeting Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) Ambassador to Lebanon Abbas Zaki, Lebanese political sources told KUNA Monday.
He would also meet representatives of the United Nations Relief and Work Agency (UNRWA), the sources added.
Serry’s visit is part of consultations held on regional levels. The situation in Lebanon is part of his mission in the area.
