Thiruvananthapuram : Six small parties in the Kerala assembly are unhappy that they have had no major role to play in the ongoing golden jubilee celebration of the legislature.
“If you look at the various committees formed for conducting the celebrations, none from the six parties has any representation. This is rather painful. We are all parties recognised by the Election Commission (of India),” P.C. George of the Kerala Congress (Secular) told reporters here Tuesday.
President Prathiba Patil will take part in the concluding function here Wednesday.
George and representatives of the Kerala Congress (B), the Janadiyapathiya Samrakshana Samithi (JSS) and the Nationalist Congress Party ( NCP) alleged that they were left out of the committees because of a hidden agenda of the Communist Party of India -Marxist (CPI-M), which leads the ruling Left Democratic Front in the state.
The NCP has two legislators and the other three parties one each.
