In a press conference organized by ‘The Art of Living’ at Hari Niwas Hotel, MFJ Chief Patron Professor Zahur-ud-din extended full support to the cause of Sangharsh Samiti and demanded that the land should be restored to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).

He, however, expressed concern over the incidents of torching of temporary sheds (Khullas) of Gujjars in the region.
“The Front has been constituted following statements of Kashmir based leaders that the ongoing agitation in Jammu region is communal. The Front would not allow anyone to mislead the people of Muslim community in Jammu region. Our objective is to ensure the safety of minorities and approach the victims whose property has been damaged during the ongoing agitation by some miscreants,” he maintained, adding, “I appeal to all the people of Jammu region-irrespective of their religion affiliations-to fight for this cause so that the main objective is to be achieved.”
He further informed that the Front and the Samiti has constituted a team which will visit the affected people whose houses have been torched and it will also appeal to majority community members to ensure the safety of their minority community brethren.
Speaking on the occasion, Leela Karan Sharma alleged that the Kashmir based leaders have launched a “vicious propaganda” of economic blockade and clarified that Samiti has not called for enforcement of economic blockade to Kashmir Valley.
Mahesh Giri also appealed to the people to maintain communal harmony and brotherhood so that the land is restored to the Shrine Board. He informed that Shri Shri Ravi Shanker is visiting Jammu for peace mission on August 12 and will hold talks with Samiti members, adding, “He will also visit Kashmir Valley to hold dialogue with Kashmiri leadership on August 13.”
