Moscow : Russian ship sank a Georgian gunboat near the Abkhazian shores, said a Russia on Sunday.
Georgian missile boats made two attempts to attack Russian warships, a Russian Defense Ministry spokesman told Interfax.
“Russian Navy ships opened reply fire and as a result one of the attacking Georgian vessels sank,” the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that his country did not consider Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili as partner worthy of trust, telling the press that peace could be brought back to the region if Georgian troops withdrew from South Ossetia.
