Kabul : Two Latvian soldiers from the NATO–led International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) were killed by bomb and armed clashes in Faryab, north Afghanistan.
ISAF spokesman, Brigadier General Richard Blanchette, said the blast killed one and wounded three ISAF Latvians in a passing caravan.
Another 13 bystanders were injured.
Blanchette added that another Latvian soldier was killed in a rebel attack while patrolling in Faryab Province.
A total of 70,000 ISAF soldiers are deployed in Afghanistan under US-led North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
