Ahmedabad : Investigations into terror attacks should be “multi-dimensional” rather than focusing on a single religious community, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind (JUH) leader Maulana Mahmood Madani said Wednesday.
Speaking after addressing an anti-terror convention at Darul-ul-uloom hall in Tarapur of Anand district, about 80 km from here, Madani said that after every terror attack the agencies target only one religious group.
The guilty, irrespective of their religion, must be punished but innocents should not be harassed in the name of investigation, he said.
He said some people from madrassas and Tabligi Jamat could be involved in terror activities, which was “unfortunate”.
“Our fight is against enemies of any religion. Whoever has ill will towards any religion can cause trouble and loss to this nation. It would be better if all religious affiliations unite and fight these forces who preach ill will against any religion,” Madani said.
“Let us all strive to erase the divide between our Hindu and Muslim brothers,” he said.
