Bhopal: Popular Front of India, (PFI), general secretary E. M. Abdurahman has stated that the arrangements for the conduct of “Freedom Parade” to be held at Madurai in Tamilnadu, Mangalore in Karnataka and Kochi & Wynad in Kerala on the Independence Day have been completed. In all the places the parade by the cadres in uniforms will be followed by public meeting. The cadres and the public will take the Independence Day pledge on the occasion.
A Press release issued by PFI Media Secretary stated that Abdurahman said that the purpose of the programme is to cherish the memories of our freedom fighters, to revive national spirit among the people and to motivate the citizens to be sentinels of freedom. This patriotic function was continuously held in Kerala every year since 2004 by our state affiliate NDF. In Tamilnadu and Karnataka our respective state affiliates MNP and KFD are taking out “Freedom Parade” in this year for the first time.
According to the Press release Popular Front chairman E Abubacker will receive the salute from cadets at Madurai. The programme will start at 3 pm at Maruthnayagam ground (St. Mary’s School ground). Assam United Democratic Front working president H. R. A. Choudhuri will be the chief guest. MNP State president Mohammed Ali Jinna will read out the pledge.
In Mangalore Popular Front vice chairman K. M. Shareef will receive the salute and inaugurate the public meeting. The programme will start at 3 pm at Tipu Sultan Nagar (Karavali Utsava ground) and will conclude with a public meeting at Bhagat Singh Nagar (Mangala Stadium). KFD State president Dr. Mahboob Awad Shareef will read out the pledge.
Popular Front general secretary Abdurahman will receive salute in Kochi. The parade will start from Gosree Bridge area at 3.15 pm and will conclude with a public meeting at Bhagat Singh Nagar (Manappattiparambu). NDF vice president K P Mohammed Shareef will read out the pledge.
In Mananthavady Popular Front administrative secretary A. Sayeed will receive the salute at 3.15 pm. NDF Sate president Abdurahman Baqavi will read out the pledge in a public meeting at Bhagat Singh Nagar (Thazhe Angadi ).
