Fake currency seizure: Two more held in Kerala

Kozhikode : The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has arrested two more people in connection with the seizure of fake currency with the nominal worth of Rs.7.25 million at Kozhikode International Airport, officials said.

DRI officials said one of those arrested Sunday, Abdul Kareem, is a grade four employee of air customs at the airport. The second man arrested was identified as Usman, a native of Malappuram district.

The seizure was made Saturday. With this the number of persons arrested in the case has risen to six.

The currency was seized from Moideen Muhammed Alsab, a native of Thrissur district in Kerala, who came on a RAK Airways flight from Ras al-Khaimah in United Arab Emirates (UAE) Saturday morning.

The DRI had also arrested three people who came to receive Alsab at the airport.
